SAN ANTONIO -- A family of three safely escaped a house fire Thursday morning on the West side, fire officials said.
Authorities say the fire sparked up in the 800 block of Serenade Drive near Blanco and West Avenue.
The fire is reported to have began in the garage and then quickly spread to the side of the home.
Fire officials say the rooftop of the garage collapsed. The cause of fire was not immediately known.
