SAN ANTONIO -- A family mourning the death of a Good Samaritan is asking for the community's help.
28-year-old Michael Boozer died Saturday evening, hours after he stopped to help at an accident on IH 10 East near Crossroads Drive. He was on his way home from work at about 3 a.m. and police are still investigating how and why he and another man fell about 60 feet to the access road below.
Boozer was a father of five and was working as a security guard. He planned to one day become an officer so he could continue doing what he loved most: helping others.
"That's what made him, him. Just being that person that was always there for you," his older brother Johnny Neal said.
Boozer planned to marry his fiance Victoria Amaro on March 16, seven years to the day after they first started dating.
"Last night, I spent the first night in our apartment and it really affected me. Everywhere I turned, I just always thought of him. I slept in the bed without him," she cried.
The family says the other man injured Saturday remains hospitalized.
"Our deepest sympathy goes out to them. I know they're hurting as well," Neal said.
