SAN ANTONIO -- A family on the Southeast Side lost everything they owned in a fire over the weekend

The family of 14 lived in a house on Sewanee Street. One of the children reported seeing fire coming from an electrical outlet in a bedroom around 7:00 a.m. Sunday and woke everyone up. The family escaped but lost their seven pets and all of their belongings in the fire.

Mom Maria Bocanegra was still overwhelmed with emotion when she spoke with us.

"I'm so sad right now," Maria told us. "I still can't stop crying. It's just bad."

The family has no insurance. The Red Cross is helping, but they are now looking for a home.

If you would like to help them out, you can go by any Wells Fargo and make a deposit in the Garcia Family Donation account.
