Brian Thompson of WNBC for NBC News Channel:

RAHWAY, New Jersey -- She had a striking resemblance to the Venus de Milo, but one complaint about a nude New Jersey snow sculpture led to it being clothed in bikini instead of the being in the buff.

"I don't think God made anything dirty," said Larry Cappiello of the Art Guild of Rahway, who couldn't believe anyone would object to the snow woman, sculpted during last week's snowstorm, on the front lawn of Elisa Gonzalez.

Gonzalez's house on a residential street in Rahway is well known for creative snow sculptures after big storms. The previous storm gave birth to a throne, and before that a "Snowbama."

"I think it was great fun, we made a lot of people smile," said Maria Conneran, 21, Elisa's daughter and the main sculptress of the replica of Venus de Milo, which can be seen in its original form at the Louvre.

But after a complaint to police, an officer drove by their home. After admiring the artistry, Rahway's police chief said the officer told Maria that perhaps she might want to cover Venus up -- although she maintains they were ordered to -- and so she did.

That's when the controversy began.

"The human body, it's what we are," said Cappiello of the Art Guild. "I don't think we should be ashamed of it."

But he admitted some nudity could be offensive. "If you try to insult people or create something controversial in a bad way then possibly that could be seen as pornography," said Cappiello.

Frank Mazzuca of Woodbridge, who took his own photos while driving by one day, saw it slightly differently. "I definitely believe people are way too uptight. If that's the case then don't take your kids to a museum, he said."

As for her 12 -year-old brother Jack, when asked about what he thought about girls and the female form, he replied with a smiling "No comment."

Seriously people??? Are we going to ban all images or depictions of human breasts now? Close all art exhibitions, and just draw stick people from now on.... gee whiz... don't people have anything better to do than complain about nipple-less snow boobs?

You remember when Rolling Oaks Mall first opened? I wonder what these people would think about that! Enough was said from us that they painted the "peaks" white instead of pink. They took my daily laugh away when they did that.

Feesta- Right on. Couldn't have said it better. He is risen is the latest incarnation of True Believer & Jesus is Lord. I suspect one morphs into another every couple of weeks. As to the snow sculpture- It's just the folks in New Jersey having fun with snow! I grew up in Indiana and learned to enjoy the snow, afterall, God made it, why shouldn't we enjoy it! od made & inspired artist's too, "He is Risen". When He made you, He must have been having an "off" day.

You seem to be saying that this is only snow and not a representation of naked teats. You have changed your story to better make sport of Christians. It will not seem so funny when you stand befor the Lord, as you will one day, to explain your sins. Better that you should seek Jesus while there is still time.

He Is Risen, I can't stop laughing at you. If you are being serious (and you're seriously this dumb), then where is the "teat"? Sculpting is a form of art. I see snow, not porn. It's sad to see pervs like you. You see a sculpture of snow and think of sex and women. You are sick. In addition, what about sculpture made for religion, or religious figures that make sculptures. I'd say I wish God could help you, but it seems he's done the opposite with you. Point and laugh.

"He Is Risen" has just scared 839,258,257,028 people out of Christianity. I guess it is all or nothing. And since not all Christians can stop themselves from raping 5 year olds, I guess it is nothing.

God intended that there would be no teat noticing, but once that durned serpent let the cat out of the bag, He had to take steps to stop the sinful behavior. He bid that the teats would be covered up, along with the unmentionables. This is God's law. Don't try to pick and choose what you like out of the Bible. It's all or nothing.

Art is not anymore appreciated, only drugs, guns and killings ...
