And @WRO WRO, with your 7 votes from your mentally challenged peers.. Your argument is 'non sequitur'. There is no evidence at all that these parents would sue the school in the case you mentioned. Just because they are willing to stand up in this case, doesn't mean they are sue-happy at all. Besides, someone tell me how many times this specific school had to deal with a suit like the one you described. I'm betting, none. Ergo, there is no legitimate reason for this tracking system other than the district having money to burn, wanting a new toy, and giving a tech company with inside connections a leg up. Poppycock!

And regarding school skippers, this is a magnate school fools, the best and the brightest in the district. They didn't get there by being slackers. And the presence of an independent thinker who dares to challenge the group in an environment like this shouldn't surprise anyone. Lastly, this is a NEW rule, not a long established one. So just mindlessly falling in line is not only weak, it sets a dangerous precedent. Do you all really want a bunch of robot kids? Much good has come from civil disobedience.

Wear the ID or get gone. It's simple as that. Besides we all know you can't invoke religion and public schools in the same sentence. If a picture ID (non rfid) violates your religion then good luck in America driving,cashing a check or e-verifying(getting a job) besides Texas law says you need to carry a picture ID so I guess you should plan on moving out of the State.

She does not want to have the RFID badge? She does not want to wear the non-RFID badge? There is always alternative high school, Private school, and even home schooling.

You’re just missing several critical points, @ElJefe. 1) these are CHILDREN, who have hardly any legal rights in this state, and 2) the district is responsible for their safety during the hours they’re supposed to be in school, and 3) if she doesn’t wear the device and there is a fire in the building, some firefighter may be risking their life to find a child that IS NOT THERE; letting her waive the badge requirement doesn’t solve that problem; The badge may not keep track of where they ARE but it will tell you where they are not; and, finally 3) these are the rules of her school and she doesn’t get to choose which to follow. If her parents don’t like it they can put her in private school (where here are new and different rules everyone must follow) or stay home and home school the spoiled brat.

So is she going to scream religious persecution when an employer requires her to wear a badge (like most do)? Save all the taxpayers some money, shut up and go to a school where you can do what you want and not abide by the rules. Get lost. Take a hike.

That said, whether it's a PRIVATE or public school is irrelevant, What IS relevant is someone trying to buck the system when the rukes are CLEARLY laid out for all to follow.
