FORECAST: We're from Texas, we can take the heat!

Can anyone tell me the correct aquifer level? WOAI has it as up .1 to 652.5, KEN's has it as up .8 to 654.0, KSAT has it down .3 to 654.2. The SAWS site hasn't been updated since the 13th. Which one is correct, as of today?

THURSDAY: What We're Tracking: Stubborn low pressure to our south What's Happening: That area of low pressure to our south over Mexico is controlling the weather across all 4 Zones this week and since it's only moving slowly it continues to remain close enough to get us those heavy showers/t'storms. The system is expected to continue to slowly work it's way off to the west so the highest rain chances will shift to the Western Zone tomorrow and Saturday. There might be some heavy rain and flooding in places like Del Rio and Eagle Pass tomorrow. The atmosphere will remain somewhat unstable here in San Antonio too and with any sunshine heating things up we will still see some scattered mainly afternoon t'storms popping up tomorrow and over the weekend. However, the coverage will become a lot less widespread with time. Still, if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time the next few days you'll have to quickly run for cover but it looks like the Western Zone will get most of it from this point forward through Sunday. We continue to take small persistent bites out of the drought but next week looks like it will feature fewer rainy days. Forecast: Tonight: Scattered showers/t'storms at any time. Low: 74 Wind: Light Tomorrow: 30% chance of mainly afternoon/evening t'storms. High: 90 Wind: SSE 5-10 Weekend: 20% chance of widely scattered afternoon showers/t'storms both days. Let me correct that statement. I already have an inch in my rainguage and it's still raining. If we could get this three times every two weeks, or even once a week it would be great!

MONDAY: What We're Tracking: Hot and humid weather with spotty t'storms What's Happening: An area of widely scattered little showers/t'storms over the Eastern Zone is moving west but should fizzle out before reaching San Antonio. A disturbance over the western Gulf of Mexico is expected to drift off to the west and move right up the Rio Grande Valley through midweek spreading rain chances mainly south of San Antonio and west over toward del Rio in the Western Zone. If the track of this system is a little farther north than currently anticipated we could see a few pop-up t'storms tomorrow here in SA so I'm keeping a 20% chance in the forecast just in case. For the most part there are no major storm system headed this way anytime soon but that doesn't mean we can't see a couple of isolated showers/t'storms just about anywhere the next few days due to the heat and humidity. Forecast: Tonight: Showers east of SA fading away, clear and warm. Low: 73 Wind: SSE 5-10 Tomorrow: Mostly sunny, 20% chance of scattered t'storms, mainly south of SA. SUNDAY: What We're Tracking: Heavy t'storms ending before midnight What's Happening: An upper-level disturbance was located to our west earlier today and gave some of us some early morning showers/t'storms. The system is now just east of us and giving some of us another round of storms. As we lose the daytime heating we'll see these storms weaken and dissipate before midnight but a lot of moisture will remain in the lower levels of the atmosphere heading into the new work week. Despite higher pressure building in (which usually means sunny and hot weather) we'll still be able to pop up a few t'storms in the afternoon and evening hours the next several days. While the coverage will be scattered any one of them could contain heavy downpours and dangerous lightning. This high pressure should eventually win the battle by later in the week with a lot more sun and little to no rain expected toward the end of the week. Highs will be in the 90s with overnight lows in the 70s through the upcoming week but we're still waiting for our first 100 degree day this season here in San Antonio. No signs of it yet. Here's a look at the radar at 1:35pm this afternoon. Heavy showers and thunderstorms are moving southeast at 20-25 mph from Bandera, Hondo, Pearsall, and Cotulla and spreading into Bexar County and San Antonio right now. Rainfall was about one inch in Uvalde and Hondo so far today and similar totals are likely here in San Antonio. There will be some localized street flooding. TUESDAY: What We're Tracking: Next rain chance later this week What's Happening: Weather is on cruise control right now and another beautiful night is on tap for tonight followed by another sunny, hot day tomorrow. A rare June cold front will move in by Thursday night or Friday and cool us off into the 80s temporarily before heating back up into the 90s by the weekend and perhaps even hotter by next week. More importantly that front will get us our next chance of rain. Right now I wouldn't expect much, the computer models aren't exactly emphatic about heavy rain chances yet but I'll keep an eye on it. At the very least we expect a few showers and a bit of a brief cool-down by the end of the week, just don't get too used to it. Forecast: Tonight: Clear. Period. What We're Tracking: Gorgeous weather through midweek What's Happening: Our next chance of showers/t'storms will arise by around Friday but until then the weather looks very nice with near-normal temperatures through Thursday. Another clear, pleasant night is on tap for the overnight hours and more abundant sunshine is on order for tomorrow. A weak cold front will get close to us by the end of the week helping to keep our temperatures manageable but a strong area of high pressure will expand eastward from the desert southwest into Texas heating this up by next week. In fact we might be looking at the hottest readings of the season so far at that point but again, it won't be too bad through the next several days. That rain chance on Friday is only at 30% for now. The season's first tropical cyclone could form over the eastern Gulf of Mexico in the next 2-3 days but will take a track toward Florida and not Texas so we won't see any rain from that.
