What We're Tracking:
More rain possible tonight
What's Happening:
The record flooding that hit San Antonio is a result of a complex of thunderstorms that moved in from the west and collided with winds flowing off the Gulf of Mexico. This made the storm slow down and sit right on top of us for several hours creating rainfall amounts over 10 inches in portions of Bexar County. As the flood waters recede we're watching for the risk of yet one more system increasing our rain chances overnight. This system is expected to produce very heavy rainfall up in the eastern Hill Country area over toward Austin but if any of the rain makes it into San Antonio then flooding will get worse again. Drier, more stable air will gradually move in later tomorrow so the rain chance will diminish and Memorial Day looks mostly sunny and warm. Please stay tuned for any updates or possible warnings in the event any of those new overnight thunderstorms develop.
