ATLANTA (CNN) -- Anyone with allergies may want to stock up on tissues and medication, because your allergies are about to get a lot worse.

U.S. allergy specialists say global warming will cause pollen counts to skyrocket over the next 30 years. In 2000, pollen counts average about 8,000. By 2040, pollen counts are expected to surpass 21,000.

The specialists also think allergy season will begin earlier every year.

@JJTX99, if you were talking to me, I was not saying that Earth is warming, because it's not. You're right; it has been cooling. This a part of the normal cyclical changes, and a product of the fact that Earth has shifted on its axis......again. We are experiencing Climate Change, and we are experiencing a continuing drought in much of the USA. I was simply expressing Nature's means of survival of the species with regard to plant life.................and increasing allergy troubles. THEY can't take too much information at once to digest...if you get my gist.

Ok but the earth is not warming. It's been cooling for the last 20 years.

@roadunner1980, actually there is a bit of truth and foundation for this. Nature takes care of itself when it can, and during times of drought, plants and trees will produce double or triple the blooms for seeds in order for a better chance to keep the species alive. It's easy to predict a dry summer by the increased number of blooms on the Mesquite and Huisache trees, and the resulting beans that help to keep wildlife and livestock alive, as well as provide a better chance of survival for the plant. Once again, my Huisache trees are covered with an enormous number of "blooms", double the normal size, too, again this year. Doesn't bode well for drought relief. Even some of the mesquites were putting on blooms at the same time they were sprouting leaves. Now, I thought the term "global warming" was being replaced with "climate change". Climate change is cyclical and real. Global warming wholly at the hands of humans (& cows, according to many idiots) has been fairly well debunked.
