SAN ANTONIO -- A burst of construction in Downtown San Antonio is showing no signs of stopping.

Lofts are going up left and right, and developers behind the rebirth of the old Pearl Brewery Wednesday presented their final phase of redevelopment. They showed off drawings Wednesday that give a sneak peek of what they have planned.

Essentially, it's more living space. But it has to be approved by the Historic Commission.

There's also a hotel under construction on The Pearl grounds. It will add to the restaurants, bars, and retail space that occupy the once abandoned brewery.

Kellie15, I've lived and worked in that neighborhood. If you look up the zip code 78212 which is where that is, on the Sex Offender Database as a Map View, you will see there are a lot of high risk and other sex offenders all around that area. I also know from experience a lot of the busboys/men around there are smoking pot and there's tons of thieves breaking into cars. My car was broken into almost ever 3 months there. I don't feel sorry for them, too many of them are letting their houses turn into dumps because of criminal lifestyles. Those high end lofts need security 24/7.

What will be the price on these lofts? I know where the street is near the Habitat for Humanity is there are lofts a couple of streets over or apartments. It is sad to drive down that street you look up and there are apartments. However on the other side of the street are the people that have lived their all their lives. They are slowly being pushed out where are they going to go? In the end money talks.
