SAN ANTONIO -- Sheriff's deputies arrested a man accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend.
The 27-year-old woman told investigators she broke up with 30-year-old Gabriel Ybarra months ago, and that is when the threats to her safety began. In July, the victim said Ybarra broke into her car and left a text message thanking her for cash and sunglasses.
Ybarra is also accused of spray painting an obscene message on her garage doors. Deputies said the alleged stalker drove by the victim's home last night, fired gunshots, and then sent a text saying, "did you hear my gun ha ha." Investigators said he added more to the message, "next time I'll get closer."
According to investigators, Ybarra had been terrorizing the woman and sent more than 150 text messages since August 1st.
Ybarra is in the Bexar County Jail. His bond has been set at $50,000.
