SAN ANTONIO - A man is behind bars for allegedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and holding her hostage for 11 days.
The man, 32-year-old Efren Plata, was arrested after his girlfriend reportedly escaped from his home on Wildcat Lair in Far West Bexar County. According to his arrest affidavit, Plata tricked the woman into going to his home in far west Bexar county, and then bound her hands, feet, and mouth with duct tape.
He then told her "things we not going to be nice." Documents also revels Plata drove the victim to another man's home for her to have sex with the man for $250 dollars. He placed the barrel of a gun inside the woman's mouth and pulled the trigger, but it didn't go off.
The arrest affidavit states the victim talked Plata into letting her leave to see her mother, but promised she'd turn. The victim instead when straight to authorities.
Ramirez is Plata's next door neighbor and finds the allegations hard to believe.
"I didn't think he would do something like that," said Tony Ramirez. "He was a good friend of ours, we used to hang out, my son used to go over and pay the PS 3 with him."
Plata is facing three felony charges, including aggravated kidnapping. His bond has been set at $130,000.
