SAWS isn't really known for their speedy response. However, not many government offices...ok, NO govt offices were open on Monday. If the water should have been shut off, she could have asked a neighbor's help. On the flipside of that, she and her disabled hubby would have been without water for a few days. That's not a great scenario either. I think SAWS offering a discount is fair.

The leak was on her property so she should have shut the water off herself since it was on her property not SAWS. SAWS would have nothing to do with it. Now she is crying about paying for the water wasted. Ignorance is not an excuse.

well...... if she called saturday and saws waited til wednesday to shut the water off.... maybe a discount is in order for the wasted water, especially because of our water shortage this call should have been a priority and water shut off THAT day.

If the leak is on her property which according to the article it is why is this SAWS fault? So if she doesn't pay her bill that means the rest of the rate payers get to absorb it. Great....
