SAN ANTONIO - An 85-year-old man shot and killed himself inside a Downtown doctor's office.
Police responded to the shooting off Camden and Lexington Avenue just after 2pm Tuesday afternoon. They say the man was inside one of the patient rooms on the fifth floor when he pulled the trigger.
Shekeyah Yehuda was inside the same doctor's office when the gun went off.
“I'm standing right by his door. When the man did it, I'm right beside Dr. Rodriguez's door on the phone,” explained Yehuda. “I jumped ‘cause it scared me. And I said, ‘No - that wasn't gun shot.’ But then I smelled it. I smelled gun smoke. I smelled it.”
No one else inside the building was hurt or threatened.
Police are still investigating why the man shot himself.
