CIBOLO, Texas - There is another Texas connection to the Colorado shootings tragedy. Thirty-two year old Rebecca Wingo, who was originally from Quinlan, in East Texas, was also among the twelve victims killed.

As hundreds of thousands of Americans woke up to hear the shocking news Friday morning of the shootings at a movie theatre, it was no different for a woman living in Cibolo, Texas. But her thoughts immediately turned to her friend Rebecca Wingo who had moved to Aurora, Colorado.

Angie Kellar quickly logged onto Facebook to check on Rebecca leaving a message and hoping she was alright and was not involved in the theatre shootings.

But, instead of Rebecca responding, a friend of Rebecca’s named Marcus Weaver sent a message that he needed to talk to her as soon as possible. Marcus told her both he and Rebecca were both shot inside the movie theatre. He survived, but Rebecca had to be carried out by rescuers.

Angie contacted Aurora Police, but couldn't confirm her friend was killed.

“It was about eight or nine o'clock last night and they said we still didn't know, and then I looked on her Facebook again, and the first thing I saw was ‘rest in peace’, “explained Angie Kellar.

Angie had known Rebecca for the past nine years. The two were neighbors in Hawaii when Angie’s husband and Rebecca were both stationed there in the Air Force. Rebecca had since left the military and had settled in Aurora with her two young daughters.
