Dryer sparks house fire

SAN ANTONIO -- A clothes dryer is being blamed for causing a Northeast Side house fire.

San Antonio Fire Department spokesperson said a woman was doing laundry at her home in the 16,900 block of Union Cavern around 1:30 p.m. Friday, when she felt like something was getting really warm inside the house. She went to check it out and found the dryer had caught fire.

The woman her children and ran out of the house. No injuries were reported.

The fire caused about $40,000 in damage.
