SAN ANTONIO -- State troopers are searching for a driver who struck and killed an 18-year-old girl in Atascosa County early Sunday.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says Samantha Garza, who is also known as "Sammie," was hit around 4:00 a.m. Sunday, shortly after she left a Halloween party near FM 476 and Adcock Lane. Investigators say Sammie was walking in the road when she was hit by a Pontiac G6.
"They just hit her and left her there," Samantha's sister Christy Serenil-Rangel told us. "We just want to know who did it. Just come out and say who did it. Give my mom that peace. That's all I'm asking for."
DPS investigators say the Pontiac G6 they are looking for is a 2005 to 2010 model. The car has damage to the radiator and visible front end damage. They are asking repair shop workers to keep an eye out for the car and to immediately report it.
If you see the car or know anything about this accident, please immediately contact DPS at at 830-769-9345.
Samantha's funeral arrangements are still pending.
