SAN ANTONIO – Police say she drank, drove and killed two people on Highway 90 over the weekend.

Records show this isn’t Ruby Bukvasevic’s first time behind bars for drinking and driving.

Counting Sunday’s deadly accident, this is now her third time in jail for getting behind the wheel drunk, according to Bexar County’s criminal records.

In October 1992, Bukvasevic was charged for driving while intoxicated and a judge put her on probation.

In September 2003, Bukvasevic got her second DWI charge and once again received probation.

Now, she’s charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

San Antonio police say she was driving her SUV west on Highway 90 just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

Officers say Bukvasevic was drunk when she drove over the center guardrail and hit a Lexus head-on, killing both the driver and passenger on impact.

Police identified the Lexus passengers as Corinne Hollingsworth from Round Rock and Raquel Cooney from Lubbock.

News 4 WOAI spoke with Robert Valdez, a lawyer who handles DWI cases, and asked what kind of punishment Bukvasevic could get. He says it’s very unlikely she would get probation, and two counts of intoxication manslaughter would come with up to 20 years in jail.

So, the government will take away our guns, but they won't take away this idiots' right to drive? Plus, how can you expect the judges to do anything, when alot of them are the biggest drunks in town.

Linda B. I voted for your comment, and I feel the same way about Fiesta as you do. It's just another excuse to get drunk in San Antonio. Every year after these events you can count on at least 2-3 wrong way drivers that smash into some innocent person or persons, by the time it's all over.

We need legislation to remove the wimpy "intoxication manslaughter" and replace it with a much more accurate FIRST DEGREE PRE-MEDITATED MURDER. There isn't a soul who could claim to not know that drinking and driving kills and that they are playing russian roulette with innocent people. BUT, someone with TWO prior convictions has surely been "put on notice" of the dangers of her actions and yet she CHOOSE to drive drunk again! 25 to life with NO parole would be an absolute Minimum sentence .... death is better!

Bexar county had 274 DUI arrests over the holiday season. How many of these are back on the road.......my guess 274.

Get yourself a sleazy lawyer and a crooked judge and you're guaranteed probation.
