Driver and his grandson critically injured in Thanksgiving Day crash

SAN ANTONIO -  Thanksgiving this year has been ruined for a family involved in a major crash on the North side.

The crash happened Thursday around 11:15 am at Loop 410 and McCullough next to North Star Mall. A man and his four-year-old grandson were heading to Thanksgiving dinner, traveling west on Loop 410, when police said the man suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. They were rear-ended by a man in a Jeep.

Both the man and his grandson were taken to a hospital in extremely critical condition.

The driver of the Jeep was not seriously injured.

Police said he will not be charged.
