SAN ANTONIO - Like the villain in a horror movie, the flu could come back for a second scare.
The director of the Bexar County Metro Health District says flu cases are "way, way, way" ahead of last year's numbers.
What's worse is that Dr. Thomas Schlenker says the flu will likely peak twice in Bexar County.
"This is going to be a tough season. If you don't have your flu shot yet get it because there is still time, and there's that second peak coming," Schlenker said.
Health officials expect the first peak to hit Bexar County around the week of Monday, January 14th. The second peak is expected in March.
High levels of flu are being reported in 29 states.
A public health emergency has been declared in Boston because of a flu outbreak. There have been 700 confirmed cases this season there, compared to 70 last year.
