SAN ANTONIO -- Testimony resumed on Monday in the medical malpractice trial concerning the death of a 22-month-old San Antonio boy.

In December of 2009, Maddoux Cordova died shortly after he was given morphine to relieve the pain following a dental procedure. Monday in court. the family's attorney questioned Dr. Brian Seastrunk about the morphine given to Maddoux by a nurse.

"He was the doctor in charge, and the order for the morphine came from him. And the order for the discharge came from this doctor, and you heard him try to wiggle from that fact," said Beth Janicek, who is the attorney for the Maddoux's family.

An autopsy was not clear about how Maddoux died, but Dr. Seastrunk admitted in court Monday that after going over records from Wilford Hall and reviewing expert reports, he believes the boy was given too much morphine.

Testimony will continue Tuesday.

What a badly reported story. Wow what incompetent journalist wrote this misleading story? Where's the meat of the story...quit implying a wrongful act. Go back to school.

At 22 months old, what kind of dental procedure would they need to do to this child to that caused so much pain as to require morphine!
