As is often the case, certain confusion over the role of Christian witnesses for the Lord and the underlying reasons for certain statements by those Christians has arisen. This is a very common result of the unsaved trying to interpret God's commandments, even though they have only a partial understanding of those laws at best. It is quite true that Christians have been compelled by the Lord to love the sinner, even as they condemn the sin. The problem is that many of the unsaved, when it is pointed out to them that they are unsaved wretches and are going to Hell for this sin or that sin or all of them and for failing to accept Jesus, believe that it is a personal attack against them. They are wretched sinners and cannot see themselves apart from their sin. But no! It is the work of Christians to speak out against sin and we are thirsty to save souls at he same time. We are bid by the Lord to spread the good news and to encourage acceptance of Jesus. Rather than a personal attack, unsaved persons should see these rebukes by Christians as an invitation, lovingly delivered, to avoid the searing fires of Hell and spend eternity with God and Jesus instead. I'd say that's pretty friendly. So, don't get mad if a Christian tells you that you will be going to Hell; get Jesus instead. God bless.
