David Mazza is the Morning Meteorologist for the StormTracker 4 Weather Team.
David is a native of the Midwest, growing up in the Chicago suburbs where he spent a good deal of his life. While he misses the Midwest, he does not miss Midwest winters at all. In fact, he would be happy if he never saw snow again.
David attended college at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he earned his degree in Atmospheric Science. From there, David accepted a job in the Concho Valley in San Angelo, working for the NBC affiliate. While there, he got his first taste of the friendly people that live in Texas.
His next stop was in the Coastal Bend working for KZTV in Corpus Christi. David started doing weekends and was quickly moved up to morning weather. After a few months, to David’s surprise, the station hired someone who would end up being the love of his life, his wife Crystal. David got a chance to work mornings, afternoons, and eventually evenings with his wife over the course of the next few years at the station. Crystal is a South Texas native and has helped teach David to become more of a Texan and expects that one day he will use “y’all” in a sentence, maybe.
While in Corpus Christi, David earned his Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. He is also a member of the National Weather Association.
David enjoys playing golf, tennis, bowling, following the weather, rooting for his Boilermakers, and his hometown Chicago Bears. Some of David’s favorite movies include Caddyshack and Groundhog Day, which was filmed near his hometown!
David and his wife Crystal have two wonderful dogs Rocco and Miss Willow.
