SAN ANTONIO -- A 19-year-old woman has been arrested after her boyfriend allegedly beat her elderly parents.
Emergency crews were called to a home 6800 block of Calle Aleman on the Far West Side around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they found Teresa Daniela Astorga's parents had been seriously injured in an apparent beating.
When investigators questioned Astorga's mother at the hospital, she told them she suffered a broken arm as a result of the beating and her husband had a broken jaw and a broken arm. She explained that she and her husband woke up and heard their daughter arguing with a man in their living room. When they got up to see what was going on, the man demanded all of their money. The mother said her husband began arguing with the man, and they ended up outside. She told investigators that, once outside, the man hit her husband with her cane and hit her across the head with it. The mom said she hit the man over the head with a pan to get him off of her husband. She said after the struggle, he told every one to get inside. Once inside, she said he demanded the keys to their car and pushed their daughter out the door and into the car.
Investigators say they later learned the man was Astorga's boyfriend 22-year-old Luis Miguel Trevino. Both Astorga and Trevino were later tracked down in Seguin and taken into custody by U.S. Marshals. During questioning, officers say Astorga told them she had helped Trevino by going along with his plan, but that he was only supposed to scare her parents, not hurt them.
Astorga is charged with aggravated assault. Trevino is charged with two counts of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury, one count of aggravated robbery, and one count of aggravated kidnapping. His bond has been set at $450,000.
