SAN ANTONIO -- The management staff for Aspen Heights, a student housing complex near UTSA hosted a community meeting to talk about crime in the area.

Those who attended the meeting included student groups, campus police, and representatives from surrounding home owner's associations.

Jessica Benavidez, with the Hill Country homeowners association said homeowners have been complaining about break-ins, loud music, and people parking along the street.

"They actually party, yell, there's broken things, " said Benavidez.

Aspen Heights management said part of the problem is strangers coming onto the property.

"They're just coming to start a fight, or just go to parties and drink for free, " said Jason Braun with Aspen Heights.

The apartment complex has a guard shack on the property to keep unwanted guests out on the weekends. The complex has also added spikes at the exit gate, and security systems in the apartments.

Two SAPD police officers also live on the property.
