SAN ANTONIO -- Scammers are using the FBI's name to target victims.
The new scam asks for money but ends up locking personal computers. The Internet Crime Complaint Center is receiving a number of complaints about the scam. The notice threatens to report you to investigators for committing a crime, but tells people the complaint will go away if you send money.
If you receive the notice, remember the FBI will never ask for or demand payment for a fine.
