COMFORT, Texas - A San Antonio couple in jail on Thursday, accused of attacking a state trooper and trying to take his gun.
Investigators say Michael Ray Wood II, 25, and Briana Wood, 20, were pulled over on a routine traffic stop Tuesday night on I-10 between Comfort and Boerne.
The fight started after the trooper spotted drug materials. That's when there was a scuffle with the trooper as they tried to take away his his weapon. The trooper emptied is firearm with shots into the ground.
Investigators say Briana Wood drove off. She was later caught in Gillespie County. Michael Wood tried to run away, but was caught. He's in the Kendall County Jail.
According to deputies, a passing motorist called 911 and stopped to help out the trooper.
