SAN ANTONIO -- A couple walking on East Commerce were both killed late Saturday when a truck hit them.
Police say the couple were walking in the middle of the road around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when they were struck on the East Side.
The man who was struck was thrown into oncoming traffic and was run over by a taxi cab. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman who was struck died en route to the hospital, police told News 4 San Antonio.
While police are still investigating, they believe the couple may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
They have not been identified, nor have their ages been released. Police said they do not believe anyone will be charged.
