Some local, historic homes need repair, and local students need to learn about construction.  Seems like a natural combination.

On Sunday students from UTSA, UT-Austin and San Antonio College were out painting and hammering in the Government Hill Historic District.

The students in Architecture, and Construction Science, got hands-on experience and learned from working contractors.

Homeowners in the area received some help with basic repairs and maintenance.

“The front overhang on the porch and the side were coming off this program came along just at the right time,” said Raul Sauceda, whose home was built in 1904.

Homeowners in the area filled out applications to be part of the program, which is supported by the San Antonio Conservation Society.  Organizers say the program also benefits the city because it helps keep local historic districts in good shape, and helps in the revitalization of those areas.

So do the Construction students bribe the Architectural students?? It would be good practice for their chosen profession(S).
