SAN ANTONIO -- City council approved a $2.3 billion budget for the new fiscal year that begins in October.
The budget includes two percent raises for civilian employees and three percent raises for police. It also provides half-a-million dollars towards code enforcement.
"We've added resources there to increase code enforcement because the neighborhood and the council members demand it. They want people to maintain their property and to be cited if they're not, " said City Manager Sheryl Sculley.
The council also passed a property tax rate that will remain at the same level as last year.
