SAN ANTONIO -- The cause of an East Side brush fire is under investigation.
Firefighters were called to South Foster Road and FM 1346 shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. It took crews more than an hour to get the flames under control. Firefighters told us the nearest hydrant was 3,000 feet away, which made it difficult to get water to the fire.
Crews from six departments were called in to fight the fire, including Gardendale Volunteer Fire Department, China Grove Fire Department and St. Hedwig Fire Department.
No injuries were reported.
A China Grove fire department official said they are fighting about one brush fire every day.
