SAN ANTONIO -- Two women somehow escaped serious injury when the car they were in was dragged by a dump truck on Interstate 10 Thursday morning.

Police say the women in a Mazda 6 sedan were merging onto Interstate 10 at De Zavala around 9:45 a.m. Thursday when their car crashed into a dump truck hauling a second trailer. The car got stuck under the dump truck and ruptured the truck's gas tank, causing a fuel leak. The driver of the dump truck was unable to stop right away and dragged the car up to the next exit.

The women were checked out at the scene and are expected to be all right. The truck driver was not injured.
