SAN ANTONIO -- A 20-year-old woman was injured when the car she was driving slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler on the Northeast Side.
The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday in the northbound lanes of Loop 1604 at Miramar Boulevard. Investigators say a small car crashed into the rear of an 18-wheeler stopped at red light. The car ended up lodged underneath the trailer of the big rig. Emergency crews were able to free the woman, who was conscious and able to speak with paramedics. She was taken to University Hospital by AirLife with leg injuries.
The northbound lanes of Loop 1604 were closed at Rocket Lane while crews worked to clear the wreckage. They lanes were reopened around 7:50 a.m.
