SAN ANTONIO -- A car burst into flames after it was hit by an 18-wheeler on the Northeast Side Monday.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday on Wurzbach Parkway near Perrin Beitel Road.

Police said a car that broke down on Wurzbach Parkway was pulled over on the side of the road. The driver of an 18-wheeler approaching the scene lost control on the slick streets and the big rig slammed into the stalled car, causing it to catch fire.

The driver and passengers in the stalled car had gotten out after it broke down and none of them were injured. The driver of the big rig also escaped injury.
