SAN ANTONIO -- The burn ban in Bexar County has been lifted.

Commissioners Court lifted the ban on outdoor burning in unincorporated Bexar County on Tuesday.

According to Interim Fire Marshal Craig Roberts, the recent rain dropped the county's drought index to a safe level, and there is more rain in the forecast.

"That said, residents still should take daily weather conditions into consideration before burning outside," said Roberts. "On days when the humidity is low and the wind speed is greater than 10 mph, a fire danger still exists."
