CONVERSE, Texas - A burglar was shot while trying to make his getaway from a home in Converse.

The shooting happened around 4:20 p.m. on Anderson Court. Police said a woman arrived home and caught a man inside her house. She ran next door to a neighbor's house for help, and that neighbor came out with a gun. Police said the burglar tried to run over the neighbor, who then fired three shots at the car, striking the burglar once.

Police caught up with the suspect at Loop 1604 and Old Seguin Road where he was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

At this point, there is no word on what charges he may face.

Walter. Sorry to tell you this but you can probably kiss that truck goodbye. The F250's are targeted by smugglers of drugs and illegals who rremove the seats to allow for a bigger load of cargo. The truck being a 4x4 allows for running through rough terrain. Tell your insurance to cough up the check.

It was that guy with the Christmas tree, floating around after midnight, looking into the windows. He is suspicious. I know his name is Mike, but I do not know his last name. He is a pervert.

Every neighborhood in this city needs a few more good shots who are not afraid and are able to shoot them legally , more the better. Our police force can only do so much, and that is a fact. Arm yourselves and be prepared and separate the bad from you by force if needed. It is your right. Do not be afraid to protect yourself and your family. S & W rules in my family.

My Red 2003 F250 4x4 FX4 was stolen today, Sunday 1/22/12, at the Jason's Deli restaurant on I-10 at Wurzbach between 12:05 pm and 12:20 PM. If anyone saw anything or knows where this truck is please call the police department. I just bought the truck and it still had the paper dealer tags on it. I was going to use the truck to start a new business and I invested everything I had into it and I am left without the truck and all my tools. Yes, it was locked. Yes, I have the keys. Thank you for any one's help. The police have the report on file, but any help would be great. Thank you.

They don't know what faces he may charge? Well how about attempted burglary and evading police, for starters...

At least he hit what he aimed at. Should send SAPD to train where he did.

With any luck at all that good samaritan won't be charged with anything. As ugly a scene as that must have been I'm sure there will be some bleeding harts that will cry foul about the personal defense justification. Personally I think we ought to offer him a community service award but that's just me.
