SAN ANTONIO - A record number of Americans turned to botox in 2012.

According to the latest statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, botox treatments were up eight percent since 2011, with more than six million procedures performed last year.

The Plastic Surgery Industry experienced an increase in demand for the third year in a row -- with minimally invasive procedures like botox and chemical peels leading the way.

Overall, more than 14 million people had plastic surgery in 2012.

Surgical procedures like breast implants and facelifts were down slightly -- yet one million Americans still went under the knife.

Breast enlargement was the most popular surgical procedure, followed by nose reshaping and liposuction.
