Someone at another news site made a comment and seems to know the gentleman that was driving the SUV. They claim this is the 3rd accident that the driver of the accident has been in within the past 6 months. I wonder if that's true. :(

To Kid Shaleen: You dont actually expect the Police to take responsibility for, once again, not doing their job, do you? Dont you know there are better things for them to be doing than making sure an obvious road hazard has been properly marked and blocked...you know, like sitting in a parking lot 69ing, talking on THIER cell phones while driving, or going after that nasty speeder who really isnt causing near the problems as the fools in the far left going 50 MPH....or just doing nothing. After all..that truck was there for 3 HOURS prior to the accident, and everyone knows that JUST ISNT ENOUGH TIME to get them to respond! You must be living in a dream world to expect the Police to EVER get held accountable for incompetence. Im surprised they didnt blame the little boy for "failure to evade"....YEAH, remember that crock of baloney?

Only the valiant are firm, and only the wise are enlightened. A cluster of perversities will not arise from this secure foundation, as it was not made from mankind, but from diesel fuel. A boy was killed. This must be stopped.

A very tragic accident and there are many drivers in S.A. who will not learn anything from this accident and just don't care about driving safely. I see them every single day. They pass me like bats out of hell.

I passed a parked 18 wheeler on the southbound side near Donella. No lites, flashers or warning placards. This was about 7:40 AM. Did this guy sit there for 3 hours without being noticed by police? Someone's head needs to roll over this one.

I passed this accident today, and it was horrifying. Then a little bit down the road, another car that had also *JUST* seen this as well, was too busy eating something, talking on the phone and swerve to cut in front of me. Distracted drivers are a huge problem. I'm not saying the driver of this SUV was distracted, but it made me think about being 100% aware while driving - just one glance away could be devastating.
