Bicyclist dies after hit by SUV

SAN ANTONIO -- A man is dead after police say he was hit by an SUV.

Officers say the man was riding a bicycle on East Basse Road near Treeline Park when the SUV hit him around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

The driver stopped and is not expected to face charges.

people whom ride with traffic have a death wish. his was just answered. police need to start givig tickets to these fools that break the law, i bet the person was on the phone or texting. rip dude.

Basse near Trreline Park? Could he have picked a busier place for a bike ride? In the Quarry area? Sheesh

I agree..So sad for this man and his family and not particularly to this situation but I am downtown four times everyday and some bicyclist do not follow the rules they pass on any side of cars swerve in and out of traffic and run red lights..

The people on bicyles in the road also need to share the road. I've come across bicycle riders in the lane where the cars are driving, they refuse to move to the far right lane or the left. They are indangering their owm lives.
