screw him. police wont fire upon you unless they feel their life is in danger. he got what he deserved. this country needs harsher punishments for law breakers.

SA Native - my son has been an officer almost 20 yr's. I am right and there will be no valid lawsuit. Anyone can file a lawsuit, winning is another thing. Even Constable's have jurisdiction throughout Texas.

shertzgma surely you don't understand. How many Converse, Universal City, Live Oak, Balcones Heights, Alamo Heights officers go into San Antonio to assist our Police Officers if one gets shot. There is a liability involved in doing so. Yes I personally knew an officer that were killed stopping burglars on his way home. There was no chase involved and SAPD should stay out of it. Period. Why was McManus so quiet about where this happened. He knew the officer had put their lives on the line outside their jurisdiction. Yes sorry to see the sheriff shot and hope he is all right. The bad guy is dead, but the SAPD allowed its officers to go outside their jurisdiction to kill a bad guy. Watch in six months and see how much the City pays his family for our guys shooting him!

@SA Native - surely you jest. An officer was shot and all available law enforcement personnel within the vicinity responded. There are many undercover officers from many jurisdictions out and about in the public daily. I am glad the gang unit undercover's were at the right place at the right time. I can't understand why it would concern you what agency put a stop to this criminal's spree.

@rarrgjm2000 I am also glad that the perp was taken down. Obviously he did not care for human life, seeing that he shot an officer. If he was bold enought to shoot a cop I am sure that he would have had no problem shooting one of the many kids that play in this neighborhood or walking into someones home (mine was less than 50ft from what happened) and taking ppl hostage! Yeah he made a "mistake" but it could have been a lot worse if he was not put down. If you shoot a cop you best expect to be a dead man walking... IJS So thankful for all the task forces that were involved yesterday! Thanks to them my family and I are safe today!!

Question? Why did the man get shot by an SAPD officer when they were in Converse jurisdiction? Right to chase I understand, but clearly in Bexar County. I noticed how McManus was hesitant to say anything and was intimidating Parmeleau. He has some explaining to do. PS. If these were gang officers, how did they get involved also. PS A close friend was a former SAPD police chief!!!

it's sad how you all call the suspect a pos when he made a horrible mistake in actions just remember he was and still is someone's son/dad/spouse/brother/nephew/grandson & cousin
