Downtown is turning into the new Stone oak. They screwed up and didn't wait until the funds were spent then put up the first class tables and chairs.

And what would the concerned parties say to a compromise, like a supermarket that has the brewery sharing the same space around the bridge? Perhaps a compromise is not what any of the parties want, a "my way or the highway" stance? Has anyone asked HEB if locating there would be economically feasible for a small footrpint grocery store? Asked the Brewer if he would like to share the customer traffic with a grocery store? Sounds like a win-win to me. And then when the Texas Legislature updates our ancient TABC laws the brewer could even sell his elixir at the same HEB while serving a pint a.la. Starbucks (open the taps dot org). Cheers!

another socialist /corporate welfare project masked as capitalism. if a company is private there is no need to go asking the city for funding or abatements. taking public lands or property for the benefit of the private business at no cost to them. i guess that is the way they do things in desert southwest. if that is the case where do i sign up. yesterday a million for a grocery market. what is this? the market determines the need and someone fills it. i wonder who will get the million $ grant? wink wink.

Are you serious? The City didn't agree to sell the bridge to a brewery, they're selling land next to the bridge. Talk about sloppy reporting!
