Not angry at all. But nice try at SPIN. Please stop trying to attach the angry-label to me. I'm not. Aggravated with your incessant re-writing of history to suit your feelings about the facts. And no, I don't want to meet with the developers. Are you so connected to them, that you can arrange meetings for them? Yet, you point the finger others as being in the developers pocket! Worse, you use the "developer" term pretty loosely, to suit your position du jour. As for the folks you mention, I don't know their finances. Nor am I a mind reader. You seem to be gifted in this area from reading your replies. Careful with your conclusions before you have all the information. Coincidence doesn't guarantee things are correlated. That's a novice mistake. Regarding the petitions. Thanks for the history. I wasn't aware of the hair-splitting over how many feet were in this petition or that petition. None of the petitions succeeded. And we already have a height limit. So this project simply needs to be stopped by Council NOT GRANTING an exception or SUP or whatever they call it. Period. This isn't hard. We should be past all that historic petition crap. We give you credit for creating the petitions. But they didn't work. Let's move on. We all have. But you're not. So you hold us all back. Please stop it. My focus is the school district. And second, on what this albatross will do to overburden our city staff and clog up our community. The facts I have are inconsistent with your conclusions. I've known Dr. Weser for many years, and I'm not surprised at his opposition to the project he's always been for the height restrictions we have in place. He's had this position for as long as I've known him. You have some sort of ax to grind with the AHNA, its beyond obvious. There are plenty of us who see the ongoing battle between you and this, John Joseph character, as exhausting. Let's move on please.

Correction: The AHNC money was raised in 2011, not 2010, according to Texas Ethics Commission election filings submitted by AHNC treasurer Tom Harmon.

Outfielder, Interesting that you mention the height limitation petition. There's a guy in AH named John Joseph. You might know him. He used to be prez of AHNA. When I first proposed the height amendment in 2007 he opposed it because it was too high at 55 ft. He wanted it to be 40 ft. In 2011 I gathered a petition with 550 signitures to make it 40 ft but he still opposed it. Did he change or was he always opposed? Who knows. Maybe it was because his political PAC (AHNC) was heavily supported by downtown commercial property owners who opposed the height limitations of high rises? Anyway, his PAC is still full of developer money, more than $4000 raised in 2010, poised to support Weser and any other candidates AHNA can dredge up. Sorry if I sound a little suspicious of Weser's recent opposition to high rises - Joseph and the developers will still call the shots. Good Naturedly Yours, Bill Kiel

Well, you sound angry and a little resentful. Maybe you are upset that you weren't invited by the developer to look at the project. I'm sorry about that. Let me know who you are and I'll put in a good word for you.

Not angry at you at all. The petition last year would have done zero to prevent this project. Whether its two stories or six, its wrong for AHISD and Alamo Heights. We are actually on the SAME SIDE of this thing. I'd like to see a good project too. As for the Mayor, I am calling a spade a spade. You should know, you ran against him last time. The elections are coming up. Its relevant to point out who's responsible for what's been going on in our city at this time. The petition you mention would not have stood the legal test. Sorry. But it sounds really good and smart and all. You are welcome.

Outfielder, You seem strangely angry at me. I wonder if this is more about the upcoming Alamo Heights election and political posturing. Since you keep trying to attack Mayor Cooper, I assume you are a Weser supporter. Of course you know that Weser and the Alamo Heights Neighborhood Association opposed the Charter Amendment two years ago that would have protected our City from a project like Ausway. Now Weser and his supporters want to play for the other side. Good luck on that. Thank you for your kind remarks about my good nature. Bill Kiel

Read it and all your crazy comments on that ridiculous blog. Mayor Cooper & staff are using you like always. It's good that you are against the project. But that you don't see their use & abuse of your good nature is concerning. Playing along isn't always advisable or advantageous.

Outfielder, You obviously haven't read my opinion piece on Myalamoheights.com about this project.

Dear wfkiel, How come Mayor Cooper made a special invitation to you to meet with the Developers? Sounds like he is using you, to me. I'm sure you were very willing and cooperative, just as he had hoped, to point out to them all the things they need to do in order to overcome the objections. Did you give them your humble opinion? Cooper is very good at playing people like a fiddle. It almost sounds like you actually think they respect you.
