FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Gov. Rick Perry says he's committed to balancing the Texas budget by reducing unnecessary spending and without raising taxes.

The Republican governor pledged to do a better job of using money collected from fees for their intended purpose and not for other uses. He says lawmakers need to practice truth in the budgeting process and spend wisely, because there's no such thing as extra revenue when it comes from taxpayers' pockets.

Speaking at a news conference in Fort Worth on Wednesday, Perry said the Texas budget needs to be balanced without accounting maneuvers.

However, Democratic state Sen. Wendy Davis of Fort Worth says the present budget wasn't balanced because of gimmicks. She says about $5 billion was transferred to the general fund although it had been collected for other purposes.

God bless Governor Rick Perry and keep him well, that he may continue to provide leadership and Christian direction for our country. Most Christians were heartbroken when we thought that Brother would be called to God forsaken Washington, D.C. to try to undo the Devil's work there, but we were mostly willing to make that sacrifice for the greater good and the glory of God's work. As it turns out, due to the complications and intracacies of God's plan, Governor Perry is to stay here in Texas to continue to thwart the Devil here, while the Lord sends a Morman to destroy the yankees in Washington. I believe that, in the End (which is near, BTW), it could easily turn out that all this talk about being a Morman is jut a trick to lull the Devil's people. The Jews, who were formerly God's chosen people before they turned from the Lord and rejected Jesus, but are still high on His list of the righteous and likely soon to be saved (Brother John Haggee and the Reverend Benny Henn are in negotiations with the Jews on that subject as we speak; or write; or whatever), lulled the Arabs some years back and laid them waste in only six days. Christians feel the same may be done with godless liberals. We are hopeful and we know that God is on our side. His will be done.

It seems all the states that are run by republican governors are doing ok. Maybe the rest of the nation will catch on. But we still need to keep these yahoos in check - they've been known to spend money like a drunken democrat too. Thanks Tea Party.
