SAN ANTONIO -- For the entire month of August, some children can get their hair cut for free at JCPenney stores.

The stores' "JCP Salons" is offering a free cut for children in kindergarten through 6th grade.

On Wednesday, Aug. 1, the haircuts are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

For the remainder of the month, parents are strongly recommended to make an appointment for their child.

I went there yesterday and saw Sonia for my two kids. She full serviced my first daughter (comb/cut) and told me that i had to comb my second daughters hair myself. Then made a comment about if i combed her hair everyday then it wouldnt be bad. Excuse me?!? i comb my daighters very curley hair every morning. She is a kid at a daycare and is very active it is not her fault that her baby thin hair tangles. Very rude and didnt care if she insulted my child right in front of her. I have told everyone i know free service doesnt mean i have to give up customer service or be insulted.

That's very nice of them, and good marketing. I didn't think their salons were friendly to kids and were aimed more for adults.
