A couple is in jail, accused of bludgeoning a 13-month-old girl to death with a hammer.
According to the arrest report in Rusk County, in east Texas, 18-year-old Jessica Carson admitted to the Texas Rangers that she was present when her fiancee, 18-year-old Blaine Milam performed an exorcism on her baby. Carson said they thought the baby, Amora Bain Carson, had demons living inside of her.
In the report, Carson says she and Milam drove to a pawn shop to sell the tools after the baby died. They say they were trying to get money for a priest to perform real exorcism services on the baby.
The baby also had more than a dozen bite marks on her body.
Investigators believe the exorcism is a cover-up.
The judge set bond at $2 million for both suspects on capital murder charges. If convicted, they could face the death penalty.
