SAN ANTONIO -- Many homeowners in the Hills of Rivermist are wondering what their legal rights are following Sunday's landslide.
A local attorney told News 4 WOAI he has received calls from some of the residents asking about about long-term effects of the landslide and how to protect their biggest investment -- their homes.
.
The residents have voiced many concerns, including how the landslide will affect their property values and the soundness of their foundations.
Attorney Brandon Hudson said all of the residents in the Hills of Rivermist should know their rights because the landslide could impact more than just the homes on the edge of fault line.
"The whole development could be in jeapardy," explained Hudson. "Slabs could be cracking. There could be foundation problems that should have been addressed. So that could impact all of the homeowners. So, if they don't protect themselves, it could affect them 2, 3, 5 years down the road."
Hudson is hosting an informational meeting for the Hills of Rivermist residents so they can have a source for information other than just that of the developer Centex. The meeting is Tuesday 7:00 p.m. at the
Drury Inn in the 15,000 block of Interstate 10 West.
