JOB DESCRIPTION:
We need a creative person who can run a desk at a highly competitive station in the San Antonio market. You must be able to come up with well-branded story ideas, sell them, make snap decisions in a high-stress environment, multi-task, coordinate crews, look ahead, be able to listen to scanners and react accordingly. We want a leader, not a follower. You must have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous desk experience a must. Computer experience is a must (WORD, EXCEL AND OUTLOOK). Knowledge of the city and the ability to monitor various radio traffic is definitely a plus, however, not a requirement. The right person must be able to coordinate daily news coverage and respond to breaking news. Past experience working in a newsroom is preferred.
