SAN ANTONIO -- Fire fighters were busy on the west side late this afternoon, fighting ten small grass fires that may have been set by a group of teenagers.
All the fires were in close proximity to each other in the Loop 410 & Marbach area, across from John Jay High School.
Fire crews got the first calls just after four this afternoon. The fires were quickly put out and fire officials say neither the high school nor any homes were ever in danger. Parts of a few fences on residential property were damaged.
Witnesses told police they saw a group of teens start fires in a grassy area behind some homes, then run away.
So far no arrests have been made but arson officials are investigating.
News 4 WOAI is gathering a list of the specific areas that burned, but we do know there were fires on River Birch Drive, Marbach & Wrangler Drive and along Westlyn Drive.
