SAN ANTONIO -- Two men have now been arrested, accused of murdering a young man at a party in south Bexar County.

According to the arrest warrant, a fight broke out at a party off Pleasanton road around 3:00 a.m. May 10.  Witnesses say 19-year-old Rudy Cano and 17-year-old Miguel Salinas started shooting. That's when Rene Zurita stepped in, and was shot.   Cano was picked up by investigators on May 22, Salinas turned himself in Monday.

Tiffany Zurita says her brother Rene was an honor roll student, a star athlete, and a great uncle.

"I wake up and I go about doing things and then it comes to my mind that my brother's dead," she told News 4 WOAI.

Lt. Martin Molina of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office says with proper supervision this tragedy could have been avoided.

"Know who’s coming in, know what they're bringing in to your property because ultimately you are gonna be responsible if anything goes bad," Lt. Martin said.

The person who owns the land where the shooting happened will not face criminal charges, but he could face a civil case.  The Zurita family says they're looking into that.
