SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Police are searching for two armed, wig-wearing robbers who shot one clerk and targeted two businesses Thursday night.
Police say a man and a woman robbed the Petro Stop gas station on Ackerman Road at 9:30 p.m. Lt. Scott Bell said the woman was armed with a semi-automatic pistol and the man had a revolver, which he had put on the counter during the robbery and at some point shot the 35-year-old Keisha Nelson in the stomach. She was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center and her injury appeared to be non-life threatening, he said. No other customers or employees were injured.
The man and woman were wearing reddish-brown wigs and appeared to be linked to a robbery at Church's Chicken on S. Zarzamora at 7:45 p.m., Lt. Bell said. No one was injured in that crime, but he said a shot was fired at that location.
Lt. Bell said the man was an African American male, 6'3" with a medium build. The female suspect is also African American, 5'3" and heavyset.
Investigators released a "possible" vehicle description, which was a grey or pewter 4-door car with black side mirrors and chrome wheels with large spokes. If you have any information about the suspects or the crimes, call San Antonio Police.
