CUPERTINO, California (NBC News Channel) -- The iPad 3 runs hotter than previous versions. But not enough to make it to hot too handle.
The folks at Consumer Reports say the new iPad hits 116 degrees while plugged in and running a game, specifically in one corner. That's about 12 degrees hotter than the iPad 2, enough heat to maybe make it uncomfortable, but not enough to warrant a recall, according to the magazine.
An Apple representative tells the website "CNET" the iPad 3 operates "well within.. thermal specifications."
